Students who decided to apply for the UCI summer session can proceed to the official application at the UCI website from March 1, 2026 until the deadline set by UCI. At the same time, students need to submit the internal application to SAO (21 Jan – 23 Feb 2026) to become a UM-nominated student. Only UM-nominated students will be eligible to compete for the UM sponsorship based on smart point or RC nomination.

Besides, students must enroll in a face-to-face/on-campus course(s) in order to be nominated by UM.

English Requirement
A copy of official test scores from either the TOEIC, IELTS, iTEP, ISE or TOEFL to measure a participant’s English ability level. Please refer to the UCI website for the minimum scores required. You may contact internationalsummer@uci.edu to check your eligibility for waiving the English test score if the medium of instruction of your major is English. If you are eligible, you will be given an “English Proficiency Requirement Form to fill in.
