Students who would like to apply for the BU summer terms may proceed to the official application at the official website from now until the deadlines set by BU. Please also submit the internal application to SAO (20 Jan – 20 Feb 2025) to become a UM-nominated student. Only UM-nominated students will be eligible to compete for the UM sponsorship based on smart point or RC nomination.

Besides, students must enroll in a face-to-face course(s) in order to be nominated by UM.

English Requirement

  • English proficiency proof will not be requested if student’s major is taught in English
  • Otherwise, please provide the English scores list on BU website.

Students are expected to have a good command of the English language to follow the lectures and participate actively in the discussions.

Visa

To obtain a summer I-20 immigration document from Boston University, which is required to apply for the F-1 student visa, you must be a full-time student in the summer. Full-time means students have to enroll in at least 8 credits (joining 1 session) and 12 credits (joining 2 sessions)
