CoursesThe purpose of this programme is to provide practical ideas about doing business in Europe especially in the context of Brexit and the reshaping of commercial relationships between European Union (EU) countries and the United Kingdom. Inside the EU, these relationships are also modified indirectly after Brexit since the EU is faced with the loss of a major international power and second largest contributor to the EU budget leading to a reassessment of themselves their roles and functions. Another issue concerns the division between EU members about whether the EU purpose should now be to create a major free trade zone or to move to political integration. This issue that has never been settled and comes into sharp focus with the departure of the United Kingdom.

  • Europe since 1945 – political changes
  • Creation of NATO and defence policy and the raison d’être today
  • Creation of the Common Market and its transformation into the European Union
  • Brexit and the reshaping of the EU

Comments:

I found the case material of the class “Business Strategy” inspirational and interesting, many brands and companies they took as example were not quite familiar for us. This is also one part of culture sharing. It would be a very good choice for students from non-business field to get in touch with this industry. Lecturers of the courses were helpful and considering, students were able to catch up with the class.

Comments:

The student cafeteria is wonderful! They offered heaven-like food with fairly cheap prices. There are three to four kinds of new desserts provided every day at 1 euro per piece! I thought that I was not going to like the food in Europe because it’s actually my first time to be there and I assumed there might be lots of culture shock, but shockingly it turned out that I really love their food. Especially rice pudding!

Other comments:

It’s the best summer I ever I had staying with Rennes School of Business. Unlike Paris, Rennes is a nice little city, peaceful, beautiful, with long charming history and attractive historic buildings, and also, I would say, you will try the best crepe ever in here. There are countless delicious restaurants that are insanely good with reasonable price. My friends and I tried Italian, Vietnam, and Mexican food there, also typical American food like burgers& fires and waffles.

I’ve made a lot of friends from all over the world in this programme, like from the U.S., Italy, the Philippines, Columbia, Finland and Croatia. They were very nice and helpful. I stayed with my friends everyday, we discussed classworks, shared our cultural , ate, shopped and traveled together.

I love the campus of Rennes Business School. Yes it is a small campus with three separate teaching buildings only, but the students there were truly enthusiastic and energetic. There were quick flashing performances every noon, they danced and sang together. They even played music of all different languages! I love how they integrated different cultures and enjoyed them together. Besides there are gyms, libraries, student café and discussion rooms inside the campus, which is super convenient.

Almost 80% restaurants have at least one servers who speak English (but you’d better learn to read French menu, as they usually don’t have English version). When you approach to bus drivers or other public services using pictures and translation apps, they would understand. In general people are very friendly and welcoming. Though is a safe neighborhood, friends companion made everything easier.

I would strongly suggest this programme to those who are interested on Business general knowledge, that allows you to spend a lovely summer in Rennes.
